Javier holds a doctorate in medicine from the University of La Salle. He has a specialties in both internal medicine and rheumatology, as well as completing a post-graduate degree in pharmaceutical management. He has over 30 years of experience with international companies. He was the director of the scientific institute at Pfizer, later the global medical director. For more than two years he worked at Novartis, where he held the position of national USA medical director for BioPharmaceuticals. He is recognised for his work with the academic hospital of Mexico City, where he spent more than 15 years.
