Drug Evaluation Department – Centralised Procedures Unit
Fátima Ventura, Pharmacist, PhD in Biochemistry, is the Director of the Centralised Procedures Unit of the Medicines Evaluation Directorate of Infarmed since 2025. She was the Director of the Scientific Evaluation Unit from the same Directorate from 2017 until 2025. She has been a member of Infarmed’s Medicines Evaluation Committee since 2010, as quality assessor of chemical and biological medicinal products including biosimilars. From 2016 until 2024, she acted as the alternate Portuguese member of the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and also represented this committee at EMA’s Healthcare Professionals Working Party (HCPWP) and Patients’ and Consumers’ Working Party (PCPWP). She is currently the Portuguese member of the CHMP, the alternate member representing CHMP at PCWP and a member of the Companion Diagnostics Group of CHMP.
